This month’s blog post is a little flash back to December and a shoot with lovely Thai model, Beam. Beam wanted some shots to build upon her portfolio and also for her personal use with a little bit of a Christmas theme.
Before the shoot we decided on location and shared some ideas together using Pinterest boards which are a great way to find and store ideas and very easy to share.
We met on a overcast, dark December afternoon at a local shopping area where we knew there would be some Christmas lights, we decided on a little later in the day so that we could miss most of the Christmas shoppers.
We were able to use the environment available to us to get a variety of shots from classic poses to a more seasonal feel using the Christmas lights around the shops to create a festive background. The lights really glowed as the daylight disappeared making a great backdrop.
One of my favourite images from the day is this shot taken from low, looking up. The clear sky background really shows the beauty of the model and enhances her features.
Another of my favourites is this profile shot, taken as the light was fading
We lost the light fairly rapidly so had a nice break and a hot chocolate then decided to try some shots under the street lights which cast an warm glow to Beam’s skin.
We took a few shots at the road edge using car headlights and the Christmas lights on the lampposts to lighten the shot.
It was a really fun shoot and I was so pleased to receive this great feedback from Beam.
“It was my first time having a photoshoot with Fran. She was really friendly and professional. She always smiles and laughs. Before the shoot, she gave me a bunch of ideas about the Christmas theme. She is also well prepared. She knows where to take photos and how to pose. If you are looking for an amazing photographer, I would absolutely recommend Fran. 👍🏻
Anyway, I am looking forward to working with you again Fran 🥰”
